It has been a minute since I sat down to actually write something on my blog. I keep saying I'll get better about it, and I promise I have some sessions to blog! However, I wanted to take a second to talk about something big happening in my business.
I've made the switch to hybrid!
I'm sure there are a lot of super confused looks out there. What "hybrid" basically means is that I'm introducing film into my workflow. I'm shooting digital and film on most sessions and all weddings from here on out, and I can't wait to share these film scans with you! All of this came out of a Julie Paisley course about film and it has honestly changed my life.
I was super concerned when I first was considering going hybrid. It meant learning a new medium (and an expensive one at that), and I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a Canon SLR that was compatible with my current lens lineup. However, I got a steal of a deal on eBay for an awesome pro film camera (her name is Celeste, if anyone wants to know) and I already have two rolls of film to send off once I decide on a lab. I'm still playing with film stocks, so it will be interesting to see which one I settle on and how it affects the rest of my images, but I can already tell that I'm going to be a Fuji girl.
I can't wait to see how adding film to my workflow changes and improves the rest of my photography, and I honestly cannot wait to share these amazing new images with you!
